FillZ.com is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our development team and take this successful inventory and channel management platform to the next level.

The Development team at FillZ is responsible for feature development, second line support and QA. Reporting to the CEO of FillZ your main responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the technical vision, strategy, and product roadmap for FillZ
- Leading the engineering team to build, own and operate the software on which FillZ runs
- Becoming a domain expert by fully understanding the FillZ architecture and its dependencies
- Hiring, developing, and motivating a great engineering team
- Recognizing and removing technical, organizational and project roadblocks for your team
- Interfacing with a diverse customer base to understand their needs, priorities, and processes
- Proposing and implementing new features and system improvements
- Developing relationships within AbeBooks and Amazon to help leverage the FillZ business
It’s a challenging job and we’re looking for an amazing person to fill it. We are seeking an experienced leader with solid technical skills. Someone who is comfortable resolving ambiguity and making the right choices to deliver working software on time, someone who can help their team find the right balance of business necessity and technical and operational excellence. Qualifications for this role include:
- 5+ years experience in Software development
- 2+ years as a Development Manager
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Demonstrated passion for customer experience and usability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
- Experience developing distributed/scalable systems that support high transaction volumes
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, results driven environment
- Familiarity with Linux (Or Unix) environment
- Experience testing large scale systems and a passion for producing high quality code
- Understanding of relational databases, relational modeling and SQL (Oracle/MySQL)
- Real world experience of applying agile practices and methodologies, such as Test Driven Development and Scrum, across the full software development life cycle
Experience with the following would also be beneficial:
- Ecommerce
- Backup, Recovery and Monitoring
- Building rich web based user experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON etc.
